PERC Activities and DOC Restriction

Restriction of PERC Activities: What It Means for PERC, the Propane Industry, and Consumers

On August 7, 2009 the Propane Education & Research Council received notice from the Department of Commerce that the department’s most recent price analysis has found the price of propane compared with other consumer energy prices exceeds the threshold established under the Propane Education and Research Act of 1996. As a result PERC activities are restricted to research and development, training, and safety matters. Based on this restriction general consumer education advertising and marketing materials have been removed from the Propane MaRC at this time.
