CETP 1.0 - Basic Principles and Practices of Propane Downloadable Instructor Tools (2016)

The updated Instructor Tools include an instructor guide with case studies for group discussion and quizzes answer keys, PowerPoint presentation for each module, and the digital file of the Basic Principles and Practices of Propane book. These downloadable resources are based on industry comments and vetted by industry volunteers and can be used to facilitate classroom training.

The CETP Basic Principles and Practices of Propane offers an "entry level" course that provides pre-requisite instruction about propane's physical and combustion properties, how propane is produced and transported and will aid in preparing for NPGA’s CETP certification. The course is updated to NFPA 54, 2015 edition and NFPA 58, 2014 edition.

The topics covered are:
  • Introduction to Basic Principles and Practices of Propane
  • Propane Customer Applications and Customer Service
  • Sources and Physical Properties of Propane
  • Odorants and Service Interruptions
  • Complete and Incomplete Combustion Characteristics
  • Standards, Regulations, and Safety
  • Bulk Plants
  • DOT Cylinders, Propane Piping, and Residential Systems

The Basic Principles and Practices of Propane course is offered as a printed textbook, item PRC-009200, or in computer based interactive e-learning DVD format , item PRC-009001, which can be used to reinforce the contents of the course or for refresher training. You DO NOT have to purchase both the textbook and DVD to receive the training. Each format covers the same training content.

Another great resource for trainers is the Propane Safety Scenario (PSS) tool. It allows you to repurpose any module, lesson or page from the six e-Learning programs, to build a catalog of learning activities or pages for use in a training class or a safety meeting.
